Tomorrow, Thursday 3rd September 2015, the judicial process of 16 environmental and human rights defenders continues in the courts of Cajamarca, northern Peru. The 16 community leaders are accused by the governors of the province of Celendin and the district of Sorochuco of kidnapping, coercion and irreverence to patriotic symbols. The Public Prosecution is asking for a prison sentence of between 30 and 35 years for each accused and a reparation of ten thousand soles.
